Friends@Belmont PTA (F@B) are a small group of Belmont parents and staff who get together to organise fun events for Belmont students and their families and to raise money for the school.
We meet around once a month at school to plan events, discuss fundraising ideas, and have a bit of a chat. We are a very friendly bunch and new members are always welcome. If you are interested in joining us, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or Sue (our Chair) on 07966 153797.
In 2014 a few parents decided they would like to do an event for the pupils in school, and they hosted both a café and then a Halloween Disco during 2014. The successful café was repeated twice more in 2015, and, with more members and increasing momentum, the first joint Summer Fete was held with Bettridge School in 2016. Becoming a charity in 2016 was a big step forward for F@B, raising the profile and allowing F@B to become more closely linked to the Senior Team at Belmont School. Today F@B is a thriving group of parents / staff members / Governors and friends and aims to raise over £5,000 in 2019.
F@B’s two core aims guide all F@B activities – to enhance the life of Belmont School for Pupils, Staff and Families and to raise funds to support the school.
F@B has donated to Belmont School from 2016 onwards. F@B also is proud to support major fundraising initiatives – in 2017 donating £1,000 towards a major refurbishment of the Primary Playground and in 2018 pledging £2,400 towards new stage equipment.
F@B also donates smaller amounts to each Key Stage every year, so that the pupils and staff themselves can be closely involved in how the funds are spent.
To date F@B has donated almost £4,500 to Belmont School, and we have reserve funds invested of over £1,000 to support future fundraising / available to school.

Family Funday 2019 – “The Greatest Show on Earth!” – Sat 15 June 11am to 2pm
Join us for another brilliant Family Funday – inclusive, welcoming and lots of activities for all. Learn Circus Skills, dance to Mr Day’s Disco and eat lunch from the delicious BBQ. Oh … and please bring the sunshine with you!
We have two GOLD sponsors of our Funday. Lanes Health is a healthcare company from Gloucester, and Willans Solicitors are a renowned firm in Cheltenham. Additionally we are delighted to have Dobsons Flooring, Vets on the Park and Cotteswold Dairy all involved as stall sponsors at the event.
Anyone who attended Sports Day 2018 will remember the frazzling heat and sunshine! As last year, F@B will be on-hand to provide water to all the participants and families and provides lollies afterwards. Big thanks to Wall’s for the ice creams.
What is Bel-Bucks Café? Well – it’s the F@B version of a pop-up coffee shop and F@B host Bel-Bucks usually once per term on a Friday morning. All pupils are welcome for a hot or cold drink and a huge choice of cakes, in return for a £1 donation. Every Bel-Bucks is themed and Santa visits at Christmas too.
Families / carers are welcome at Bel-Bucks from drop off until 9.30am so it’s a great way of meeting the wider Belmont community.
Parent Consultations and Open Days
F@B helps at most parent-facing events – supporting school, chatting with parents and visitors, and making tea and coffee for all.
We are thrilled to receive support from the MACE Foundation through their match funding programme. For further information click on their website:
Easy Fundraising – Simply visit the webpage and sign up to raise funds for F@B. Download the widget into your web browser, and then every time you visit a website that is linked to Easy Fundraising, F@B will get a small donation from the retailer. For example, every shop on Sainsburys online raises 50p for F@B.
We love individuals and companies to help us raise funds by organising their own events too. We are active on Just Giving and it is easy to set up your own event in support of F@B. https://www.justgiving.com/belomontschoolpta
