Belmont School is an outward and forward-looking organisation which looks for opportunities to support and work with the heart of the local Cheltenham community and surrounding area.
Links with other schools
Staff often visit other local schools and attend inter school events to share best practice and develop their skills to raise standards and encourage innovation. We have particularly strong links with other special schools and the local Cheltenham education community.
Belmont has recently hosted workshops for school leaders from across the country to share our experience and best practice relating to additional interventions.
Throughout the year Belmont provides work shadowing and work experience/college placements for pupils and students from local schools or Further and Higher Education settings.
We have successfully developed partnerships with Cheltenham Ladies’ College and Cheltenham Bournside School involving students working together on planned programmes of work experience and community work placements.
Local Businesses and Organisations
Many local businesses offer placement opportunities for our KS4 students as part of work experience programmes.
To enhance the curriculum, Belmont has developed links with many local businesses and organsiations and arranges numerous visits for pupils throughout the year, eg supermarkets, safety zone, local court and places of workshop.
St Christopher’s Church, Cheltenham, hosts our annual Christmas Service and the Reverend Gary Grady is a regular visitor to the school, taking part in special assemblies and celebrations.
Further links exist with the Rotary Club, Wooden Spoon and other charity organisations.
The Rotary Club offer funding and support for school trips, providing opportunities for Belmont pupils to develop their communication skills and confidence.
Belmont has worked alongside Wooden Spoon who have raised significant funding on our behalf to buy a large climbing frame for secondary pupils.
Belmont regularly raise funds for a range of local and national charities, including The Pied Piper Appeal, Children In Need and Red Nose Day.
Thanks to staff, parents and carers and governors for their ongoing support to make our school such an outstanding one!
The school can provide a paper copy of the information on this website to parents/carers free of charge.
